Dear Galaxy FC members,
Over the last three years and with two (Covid plagued) inaugural seasons since inception of our dear club, we have been learning from our experiences and have started building a vision on how to improve our club so that it can rival the better and more established clubs in our district.
This is a young club, built on effortless devotion of volunteers in our community. A club that is entirely run by the same local community that it wants to support through its mission. This club is well positioned for tremendous growth, which will bring an opportunity to stand out amongst the other clubs. This also means that we need to structurally support our junior teams in their development, unlocking their talent and ensuring they remain with the club.
It is in light of the above that we are in the process of teaming up with a professional coaching company, who specialise in grassroots development programs for our Miniroos teams in U5 to U12. This will also include grading by the professional coaches for our U8 to U12 where these teams will only be formed by the merits of their talents which we have heard through your feedback. We aim to launch this program in the upcoming Winter 2022 season.
By doing so, we are following through on our commitment that was made during last year’s AGM to engage experienced coaches to help our kids and parents in what has been a recurring request for additional support with coaching and training. Our children should be proud and feel supported in developing their skills, and we want to be able to provide this in a structured way in their own local area, supported by their club. We believe that through this program, we will be able to deliver the training and coaching needs of our junior teams in the most convenient and cost effective way possible. This will be a long term project.
While we are working hard to iron out the details of this program, we wanted to make you aware as early as possible. The club aims to fund this program largely through government grant funding and the club’s own means, but we will be asking for a contribution from our members that we plan to incorporate in next year’s registration costs.
While on the topic of registration costs, you may have seen that BDSFA and FNSW are providing rebates for returning players in 2022. These will of course be made available to all of you as a returning player and in addition we are considering our options for adding a club funded rebate for returning players as well.
We are fully confident that the value we can offer is well worth our joint investment. I therefore call on all club members, players and parents to join us in celebrating and supporting this initiative and through your continued support making our club one to be very proud of!
We commit to keeping you updated in the lead up to registrations opening in January. Should you have any questions regarding the above, please contact us.
